UNICT for Ukraine
As part of the decisions taken by the Board of Directors in the session of 31 March 2022, the University of Catania gives the possibility to Ukrainian students, seeking asylum or awaiting temporary protection - who want to continue their studies in Italy - to enroll for free in University of Catania courses upon verification of previous or interrupted studies due to war events.
Students will benefit a total exemption of tuition fees and will be able to apply for the assignment of a scholarship.

UNICT for Peace
As a member of RUniPace – the Italian network for peace promoted by the Conference of Italian University Rectors –, the University of Catania is proud to fly the Ukrainian flag along with its partners. A network of universities inspired by the core principles of the Constitution, by the UN Charter, by the Founding Treaties of the European Union, by OSCE, and by the Council of Europe, bearing in mind that:
- Italy repudiates war as an instrument of offense to the freedom of other peoples and as a means of resolving international disputes
- Faith is a fundamental human right, for the dignity and worth of the human person
- Italy has a duty to cooperate in peace keeping and in preventing threats to peace
- The fight against inequalities and poverty is necessary
We do believe in the core values of the Italian constitutional and international order, of the EU and of the international cooperation agreements we all belong to.
