International Networks
The University of Catania participates in international networks for advanced training and research with the aim of promoting cooperation with partner universities to achieve the harmonization of the European dimension of higher education. These networks can be used by faculty during the planning phase to build an effective partnership.
- Sgroup Universities in Europe

The SGroup network - Universities in Europe (SGroup) is a non-profit organization founded in 1989, consisting of over 48 higher education institutions from 23 European countries and 6 non-European countries. SGroup is a dynamic network with over 35 years of experience in university collaboration both in Europe and internationally. Its goal is to promote academic excellence in education and research and foster continuous adaptation to educational and social needs in a creative and innovative way. Its mission is based on four key areas of cooperation: internationalization strategy, academic collaboration, academic mobility, and knowledge transfer.
- Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED)

UNIMED, founded in October 1991, is an association of universities from countries bordering the Mediterranean basin. It promotes university research and training to contribute to the integration process between the shores of the Mediterranean and operates in various fields: tangible and intangible cultural heritage, economy, energy, environment, water resources, transportation, health, media, new technologies, history, and tourism. For the member universities, UNIMED supports activities such as project design, fundraising, partner search, technical assistance, and communication; promotes the mobility of students, researchers, and faculty; provides technical assistance for the development of quality assurance in university teaching; establishes thematic sub-networks to foster scientific cooperation in specific sectors; and organizes training courses for academic and administrative staff of universities.

The European University Foundation (EUF) aims to accelerate the modernization of the European Higher Education Area and focuses its efforts on five main pillars:
- Promoting excellence in student mobility, integrating mobility into study programs, and conducting staff training courses and summer schools;
- Strengthening the knowledge and cooperation triangle with employers while promoting entrepreneurial skills and employability of recent graduates;
- Designing and testing innovative policies focused on the challenges faced by the EHEA (European Higher Education Area);
- Developing tools and solutions that address the practical needs of European universities and enhance student learning;
- Implementing initiatives that promote active student participation and raise awareness on European issues.

The Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) is an association of universities based in Piran, Slovenia, founded in 2008 with the aim of creating a Euro-Mediterranean space for knowledge and research.
