In vitro models of diabetic retinopathy
The activities of the lab are directed at evaluating the effects of high glucose and/or VEGF on pericytes and endothelial cells, as well as the elucidation of the pathway responsible for high glucose induced retina damage. The candidate will be involved in molecular biology experiments related to protein expression by western blotting and immunoflurescence. Furthermore additional tecniques will be used such as ELISA, qPCR and in vitro tube formation assay.
