Plasmonic Aluminum nanoparticles in transparent and conductive layer for solar energy conversion
The traineeship will be on topics related to the phenomena occurring in the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with custom-fabricated aluminium nanoparticles generating plasmonic effects to be used, in connection to selected innovative transparent and conductive oxides, to improve the efficiency of silicon-based solar cells. The traineeship will produce the nanoparticles (by using the laser ablation technique) and will proceed to the corresponding morphological, structural, compositional, electrical characterizations. In addition will produce the transparent and conductive layers and will combine them with the aluminium nanoparticles in designed configurations. For this system will proceed to the overall optical and electrical characterizations. Finally will test this system in prototypes of silicon-based solar cell evaluating the performance.
