Erasmus Photo Contest 2018

The University of Catania launches the 2018/2019 edition of the #CataniaMeetsErasmus Photo Contest. The theme for this year is “Sharing the CiTy”: we would love to see Catania through your eyes!

Theme

The Photo Contest 2018 celebrates the European Year of Cultural Heritage to encourage our international students to discover and engage with Catania's cultural heritage (tangible, intangible and digital) and natural landscapes and its connections with the Unesco Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto (South-Eastern Sicily). Discovering and sharing our European cultural heritage, as a universal value for individuals, communities and societies, will reinforce our sense of belonging to a common European space and our identities as European citizens in everyday life.

Information and submission

Do you want to join? Send up to three original photos describing your way to live your Erasmus+ experience in Catania and get the chance to win a fantastic prize!

The shortlisted photos will be available on Unict social media channels (FB - Instagram). What’s more, the best pictures will be showed in a E+ special exhibition and will be included in the Unict Erasmus+ Calendar of the Year 2019/2020.

Please do not forget to send your photos with your full name and country, a title and, if you like, a brief description of the ideas behind the proposal.

Prizes

The three final winners of the contest will be announced on February 18, 2019 and will be notified by email by the organizer. The winners will be awarded each with:

• Sweetbox by Tomarchio - Pasticceria Siciliana
• Printed copy of the photo
• Instant camera

Award Event

The Erasmus Photo Contest Award Event will take place on Feb 28th, 7 pm at Moucharabia (Piazza Francesco d'Assisi, 15 - Catania).

Partnership

The Erasmus Photo Contest 2018 is organized in partnership with the Unict European Documentation Center celebrating the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, under the supervision of Unict Erasmus Institutional Coordinator.

The Photo Contest exibition will be co-founded by European Commission's Representation in Italy within the project "Popoli, cultura e tradizioni: un patrimonio comune per l’Europa del futuro”, realised by European Documentation Centre Network.
