The sedimentary record

Sedimentary rocks are perfect archives of the past. They record the time and the environment of deposition. Fossils, sedimentary structures, composition, and texture of rocks are clues to identify the geological age and the environment of deposition.

This traineeship position is specifically aimed at acquiring the fundamentals of stratigraphic-sedimentological logging, preparation of samples for sedimentological, micropaleontological, mineralogical and petrographic analyses. At the end of the period, the trainee should have independence in stratigraphic-sedimentological logging, preparation of samples for sedimentological, micropaleontological, mineralogical and petrographic analyses.
