Coronavirus measures at Unict
From the 1st of September 2021 incoming students, teaching and admin staff are required to show COVID-19 “Green Pass” to access public venues such as the University’s buildings, in accordance with the Italian Legislative Decree 111, issued on the 6th of August, 2021.
We hereby inform incoming students, teaching staff and admin staff that from August 6th, 2021, a Digital Green Certificate so-called “Green Pass” will be compulsory to access some other venues and to take part in social activities such as indoor restaurants, bars, museums, exhibition and sporting venues, cultural sites, events, swimming pools, cinemas, gyms, concerts, fairs, conferences, amusement parks and the like.
Certificates issued by the health authorities of the United States, United Kingdom including Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Gibraltar, the Isle of Man, Channel Islands and the island of Cyprus, San Marino fall under the same rules of the European Union used to get the “Green Pass” so as to make the University a safe place for everyone along with the above-mentioned venues.
We strongly encourage all those who have not been vaccinated to do so in any of the vaccination hubs available in Catania.
The European Commission and the Italian government are looking to find a reasonable solution as far as those who do not possess the European Green Pass. Until then, they will not be allowed to access the University.
Students will be attending their first term classes online, based on the University of Catania policy to deliver first term lectures through a synchronous teaching ranging from face-to-face to online learning.
We are pleased to inform you that the University of Catania has reopening incoming and outgoing mobility for students and staff and that students will be accepted at the University of Catania for the second semester. UNICT Mobility Office has already provided information to all incoming students on the registration procedure as follow:
UNICT Mobility Office will open the registration for the first semester and for the whole year on September 28, 2021 (from 9,30 to 12,30). The registration will be held at the Erasmus Front Office, Via Santa Maria del Rosario, 11, Catania.
Students who wish to attend a virtual mobility from home country are requested to send the acceptance form mentioning the virtual mode provided by sending institution.
We remind you that wearing mask is requested to enter University building and in all indoor or closed spaces, other than private homes, and in all outdoor spaces (Please find attached a useful covid-19 recommendations)

The University of Catania gives foreign students, professors and staff the possibility to spend up to one year mobility for study, training and teaching activities within the framework of the Erasmus+ program. The mobility can be activated from October to July of every academic year (in August and September there is no provision of didactic activities).
Erasmus students' mobility starting date will be the Registration Day , while professors and staff can decide either to partecipate to the Erasmus Staff Week or to agree with the hosting structure the period of their mobility.
Updated information on the Registration Day is available at the page below while specific information on courses calendar and exams sessions is available within the departments pages. Students and professors will receive administrative assistance and logistic support from the hosting university but should apply for mobility funds to their home institutions.
