Abstract
Building on, integrating, and expanding the legacy of the RETURN and GRINS partnerships, funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, RISING proposes an integrated ecosystem for assessing the risk and resilience of social, environmental, and infrastructural systems through the development of advanced, high-TRL technological solutions. The project integrates digital platforms, virtual environments, distributed sensors, decision-making tools, and predictive models to support risk management in multi-hazard scenarios, promoting the active involvement of institutions, businesses, and citizens. Activities are structured into Service Packs aimed at transferring knowledge and technologies into real-world application contexts, with a particular focus on less developed regions. RISING promotes the strengthening of local technology supply chains, the integration of SMEs into European value chains, and the development of institutional and professional capacities. The project meets the objectives of the 21-27 National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the National Smart Specialization Strategy, and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, making a structural contribution to the safety and sustainability of local areas.
