FATA 2025
The second edition of the conference on “FAst Timing Applications for Nuclear Physics and Medical Imaging”, will be held in Catania on 8th-10th October 2025.
The conference is aimed at gathering scientists working either in fundamental physics or medical applications and imaging with a common background in the fast timing with discrete or/and hybrid technologies.
The Conference is organized by the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN) Sezione di Catania and Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS), the Dipartimento di Fisica e Astronomia “Ettore Majorana” and the Centro Siciliano di Fisica Nucleare e Struttura della Materia (CSFNSM) in Catania.
General Information and Scientific Program
The conference will focus on the most recent developments of fast-timing techniques for applications of radiation detectors in the fields of experimental nuclear physics and medical applications, covering the following topics:
- Scintillators and photodetectors for fast timing readout electronics for ultrafast detectors
- Solid-state detector technology for fast timing processing of time-stamped data
- Precise event-time tagging in high luminosity accelerators towards picoseconds
- Time-of-flight (TOF) resolution
- Time-of-flight positron-emission tomography (TOF-PET) for medical imaging and monitoring of hadron therapy
- Fluorescence microscopy techniques in including time-resolved imaging.
Registration and Abstract Submission
Participants wishing to present a contribution will have to submit an abstract directly on the website. Abstracts will be selected for oral/poster presentation by the International Advisory Committee. All contributions, including posters, will be published in the workshop proceedings.
The deadline for abstract submission is June 30th, 2025.
