In memory of Valentina Barbagallo

A ceremony will take place on Tuesday, September 16, at 12:00 p.m. to name the Villa Citelli Auditorium (Via Salvatore Tomaselli 31, Catania) in memory of Dr. Valentina Barbagallo. The former coordinator of the University of Catania’s International Relations Unit, she tragically passed away in a car accident on May 19, 2025, while on her way to work.

Rector Francesco Priolo, the staff from her unit, and her family will all be in attendance.

In a separate tribute, her colleagues at UORI have created a commemorative album. It includes messages from international colleagues and a small photo gallery, with a heartfelt dedication: "With immense affection and gratitude, we remember Valentina, a friend, colleague, and invaluable presence. Her memory will continue to guide us, every day."
