The BA in Cultural Heritage has the objective of training cultural heritage experts who will find occupation as qualified personnel at Superintendence offices, museums, libraries, archaeological parks and local institutions.
The course aims to give its graduates a grounding combining a solid knowledge in the field of the humanities – especially in history – and in the legal domain, together with computing skills, so that they can play an active role in the study and promotion of, as well as in the dissemination of information on, the cultural heritage – with special attention to the archaeological and historical-artistic heritage.
Obiettivi formativi
The course is divided into an archaeological curriculum and a historical-artistic curriculum. Students will receive a grounding in archaeological, artistic and archival heritage as well as in its management and promotion. The archaeological curriculum focuses on issues concerning the main methodologies of archaeological research and analysis in relation to historical, social and cultural phenomena of antiquity and of the Middle Ages. The historical-artistic curriculum focuses on issues concerning the main methodologies of historical-artistic research and analysis in relation to historical, social and cultural phenomena dating from the Middle Ages to the modern and contemporary periods.
In addition to lessons, the course includes professionalising experiences such as excavation activities, laboratory activities and internships. Besides academic research groups, the reference institutions of the course are therefore those linked to the cultural heritage – regional and national – and trade associations.
