vector commitment schemes and advanced signing mechanis for criptography

At a very high level the subject of the stage will be the study of vector commitment schemes and their relation with advanced signing mechanisms, most notably homomorphic signatures. These two seemingly unrelated primitives have many important applications in cryptography. A recente work by Peikert, Pepin and Sharp (Theory of Cryptography Conference 2021) pointed out a connection between functional commitments (that are a generalization of vector commitments) and some of the mathematical techniques adopted to realize homomorphic signatures. An important goal of the stage will be to better understand this connection.
