ERSU works in a similar way to a Student’s Union, although there is no building as such where students can congregate and socialize. It offers numerous services which aim to manage the students' affairs and assure them that their legal rights to study remain intact, in collaboration with the University regulations bodies.
It grants two different types of interventions and services aiming to facilitate students’ rights to study:

Scholarships and Accomodation
E.R.S.U. confers scholarships on Italian students endowed with special merits and economic qualifications and 930 beds in the University Halls of Residence. It also reserves 60 beds, in the Hall of Residence “Caracciolo” for Erasmus, Socrates and Tempus students and in particular cases, students with handicaps or students studying at the Centre for Physical Education Training. Reservations must be done directly by e-mail addressed to the administrative office placed in the residence: residenzacaracciolo@hotmail.com. The students' accomodation is opened all year round with the exception of holiday periods.

It is the central residence with 188 beds, TV and study halls, bar, cafeteria and self laundry services. The building is also provided with the concert and theatre “Musejon” hall.

It is situated in the University Campus, together with most of the scientific faculties, the Policlinic Institute and the University Sport Centre (C.U.S.). It is provided with 128 rooms, study halls, bars and cafeterias, self laundry services.

It is easily reachable by car and by bus. Residenza Caracciolo has 76 rooms, study halls and a self laundry service.

Economic Aids for International Mobility
E.R.S.U. offers subsidies to Italian students taking part to international mobility programmes, according to European Union interventions and non-communitary programmes.
