Didactic Division

The Didactic Division coordinates all the activities related to students. It is organised in three sub-areas and one service.

Management:  it includes the Secretary Office, the Public Relations Office, the Didactics Regulatory Office, the Didactics Management Office, the Right to Study Office, the State Examination and Foreign Students Admission Office;

The students’ secretariats:  it includes the Students Enrolment Office and the Students’ Secretariats (divided in five sectors: 1- Medical for the Faculty of Medicine and surgery, 2- Scientific for the Faculties of  Science and Pharmacy, 3- Technical  for the Faculties of Agricultural Science, Engineering and Architecture, 4- Economic, Political, Social and Legal Sciences for the Faculties of  Economics,  Political Science, Law, 5- Humanistic for the Faculties of  Arts, Foreign Languages and Literatures, Educational Science).

Postgraduate: it includes the Ph.D. Office, the Scholarship Office,  the Specialization School Office (teaching and medical areas), the Master Office.

The data processing system service provides technical support for the empowerment of didactics and the student’s secretariats.

OFFICES

The Right to Study Office offers numerous services and facilities (scholarship, accommodations, part-time collaborations with university offices) to students in a state of need "for the payment of taxes and contributions.  Moreover it provides services and facilities to all students (books price discount, students’ associations, subsidized loan, refectories, facilitations, ...).  

The Foreign Students Admission Office deals with the management procedures for the admission of non-EU students, and handles relations with the Italian Embassies and Consulates abroad.

The Students Enrolment Office provides  first information about the  wide and articulated formative offers and a support for the institutional fulfilments to the students who are going to matriculate at the University of Catania.

The Students’ Secretariats undertake the management of student’s careers, enrolment procedures, curriculum, transfers form other Universities.

The Ph.D. Office deals with all the administrative and managing procedures related to Ph.Ds.

The Scholarships Office attends to the fulfilments for the awarding of post-degree scholarship.

The Specialization Schools Office  is dived in two sections, medical and non medical, and deals with the administrative procedures to access the specialization schools in the medical, scientific, legal and archaeological fields. The SISSIS (Scuola Interuniversitaria Siciliana di Specializzazione per l'Insegnamento Secondario) is a specific specialization school dealing with teachers training.

The Master Office is responsible for the managing of activation procedures related to Master Courses that are scientific specialization courses that can be attended after the obtainment of a 1st cycle University degree (1st level Master) or of a 2nd cycle Master Degree (2nd level Master).
