The Career Guidance and Education Centre of the University of Catania was established in 1995. Since then the activity and the projects of the centre have constantly been increasing and our management has developed in order to satisfy the strong demand in education and training both from the academic world and professional environments. The “Decreto Direttoriale” dated 10th August 2007 no.7360 has defined the activities and the tasks of our structures: management, PR office, career guidance office, career service, university internship office, project office, masters and training office.
C.O.F. mission
The Career Guidance and Education Centre provides:

career guidance service, helping the self-evaluation and promotion of everyone’s skills, information on academic syllabus and professional possibilities;
-
education inside and outside the university in order to tailor the different professions to the business world’s requests;

strategies and facilities in planning and management of projects which benefit from public and private financing, working in partnership with: some Italian and foreign universities, public and private companies, with many professional associations and with some enterprises that work in the area.
With such a complex mission, the C.O.F. may effectively contribute to:

changing the social function of the university, providing skills that mark the growth and the richness of our area;

qualifying the university of Catania as a “customer oriented institution”, it means that we may offer high quality education, study facilities and an additional high standard service giving our clients great satisfaction.
Who are our human resources?

High school students who are just about to take their high school diplomas. With the school office of the Province and schools of 5 provinces in the south east of Sicily, we give all of the necessary support in order to help students make an informed choice regarding their academic path (pre-university orientation).

University students making easier their university life. We offer tutoring and psychological support strictly linked with different faculties in order to perform that culture education planned in our syllabus (intra-university orientation).

Recently graduated students to introduce them different professional figures and job environments through apprenticeship internships in different companies and institutions and consultant activity, (post-university orientation).

To reduce the number of students dropping out and to avoid spending too much time at university.

To create an effective career guidance strictly linked with institutions and entrepreneurs.

To facilitate the job possibilities to graduates.
